Nadia and Carol

Nadia Comaneci was born on December 12, 1961 in Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej (now Onesti), Romania. Nadia is the Romanian Olympic gymnast, and is the only person to be awarded 10/10 marks in an Olympic event. Bela Karalyi was introduced to Comaneci at age six. She would later become the Romanian gymnastics coach. She competed in the Romanian Junior Games and finished 13th. In 1970, she won the title. At her first international event that was a preolympics junior competition for countries in the Communist bloc, she was awarded three gold medals. In 1973 and 1975, she was awarded the All-around Junior Champion. In her very first competition at a senior level Lyudmila Turkishcheva, a Russian athlete, won five gold medals as well with one silver. In 1976 she became the first female athlete in the world to use a backwards-double salto to dismount from parallel bars. Carol Wayne.........................Carol Wayne was an American film and TV actor best recognized for portraying Art Fern's Tea-Time Movie Lady on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. She began her career as an entertainment professional during her teenage years in which she was a part of an ice skating duo along with their twin sister Nina Wayne for the travelling entertainment program Ice Capades. Carol Marie Wayne was born on September 6 1942 on the 6th of September 1942 in Chicago Illinois US. Carol's first job was in entertainment as a teenager. The path she took to success began with her joining Nina Wayne to perform in Ice Capades, a traveling performance. The show featured dramatic ice skating shows.
